Platinum Club Resolution

Platinum Club DC is the successor to Assets, a strip club across the street from Sheridan-Kalorama at the corner of Connecticut Ave., Florida Ave. and S Street NW.  Although the club is entitled to operate as a strip club, the SKNC has insisted that the club comply with DC laws and regulations.  In 2020 the SKNC entered into a settlement agreement that placed significant limits on the operation of Assets.  In the fall of 2025, the Platinum DC Club sought to vacate that agreement or to amend it to permit the use of its second floor and to expand its hours.  The SKNC filed a protest with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration Board opposing any changes to the agreement.

After several weeks of negotiation, we reached a settlement with the club.  It abandoned its effort to use the second floor.  We permitted it to open slightly earlier in the day – 11:00 am most days and 12:00 noon on Sunday – and to remain open one hour later in the evening, but during that last hour, alcohol beverages cannot be served or consumed.  As part of the agreement, the club also agreed to clean up its exterior and make it more attractive.  The club also agreed to replace the off-duty policemen, who were supposed to patrol the neighborhood during late weekend hours but who rarely appeared, with its own uniformed security personnel.  And finally, the club made it easier for us to seek enforcement of any violations of the settlement agreement.
